Mother Ethel Taylor-Mooney, age 87, of Forrest City, AR died
Thursday, November 28, 2002, in Forrest City, AR.
She married Leroy Taylor on November 5, 1933. After 59 years
of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 29, 1993. On July
1, 1999, she married William Mooney, Sr., who survives her.
She is survived by five daughters, Florida Matthew, Geneva
Murphy, and Doris Weaver, all of Forrest City, AR; Deloris Britton
of Little Rock, AR; and Linda Taylor of Jonesboro, AR; four sons,
Walter Taylor of Wimauma, FL, Allen Jerry Taylor, of Bradton,
FL; Leon Taylor of Corsicana, TX, and Penroy Patton of Chicago,
IL; one brother, Johnny Miller, Jr., of West Memphis, AR; 86
grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren
and 16 step-children. She was preceded in death by five children.
Mother Ethel Taylor-Mooney was a member of Willis Temple C.O.G.I.C.
in Madison, AR for more than 60 years, where she served as Church
Mother, District Evangelist, Chair Lady, Prayer Warrior and Church
Missionary. She worked for Crestpark Nursing Home, as a nurse's
aid for 28 years; worked as a private duty nurse for 22 years;
and worked in housekeeping for 20 years.
A family and public visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Willis Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Madison, AR. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 11 a.m. to Noon at Willis Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Madison, AR. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m., with burial at Paradise Gardens in Edmondson, AR, with Supt. J.D. Alexander officiating. J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home of Marianna, AR is in charge of arrangements.
