After picking up their first win of he year on Saturday at the Turrell Invitational Tournament, the Forrest City White Lady Mustangs couldn't keep the momentum going Monday while hosting Wynne at Mustang Arena.
In the end, Wynne had taken a come-from-behind 30-20 victory.
In junior boys action, the Wynne Junior Jackets ran past the White Mustangs 42-22.
The White Lady Mustangs led 5-4 after a low-scoring first period but pushed their advantage to 14-8 at the half after scoring 10 points in the second period, led by four points by Lashunda Rogers.
Forrest City was holding on to a one-point 18-17 lead after three periods but let it slip away in the fourth.
The Wynne junior girls tied the game at 20-20 with 3:34 to play in the final period and then scored 10 unanswered points to take home the victory.
It was Wynne's second victory over the White team this season. Earlier, on Wynne's home court, the Junior Lady Jackets won 46-16.
Rogers led Forrest City with six points while Whitney Lowe and Jasmina Morton added four points each. Layne McGuirt, Tasha Mills and Anita McDonald each had two.
The White Lady Mustangs will play Blytheville today at 7:45 p.m., in semifinal action at the Turrell tournament.
The Blue Junior Lady Mustangs will play Crawfordsville at 5 p.m. A win brings the Blue girls back Wednesday to face either Turrell or CV White at 5 p.m.
The Forrest City White Mustangs never got untracked offensively Monday as Wynne rolled to a 42-22 victory at Mustang Arena.
Wynne led 11-6 after the first period and 26-7 at the half after outscoring Forrest City 15-to-1 in the second period.
Forrest City put together an 11-to-5 run in the third but still trailed 31-18 to open the final period.
Larry Summage led the White Mustangs with nine points while Jarvis Palmer had six and Travis Holloway finished with four.
The Blue Junior Mustangs return to action at the Turrell tournament today when they face the host team Turrell at 6:30 p.m.
Forrest City Blue defeated Hillcrest Saturday 56-49.
The Blue Mustangs will host West Memphis East Thursday at Mustang Arena.
