Mario Buchanan Jr., age seven-months-old, of Forrest City, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his home.
Buchanan, born June 25, 2001, was the son of Mario Buchanan Sr. and Terri F. Smith, both of Forrest City.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Larry Williams of Forrest City and his grandparents, Lola and Albert Johnson, both of Forrest City.
Graveside services for Mario Buchanan Jr. will be held, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at 12 p.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery in Blackfish with pastor Chester Rolfe officiating. Woodhouse Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ruben Milton Matthew, age 64, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Crestpark Skilled Nursing Home.
Mr. Matthew was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Florida Matthew; six daughters, Deborah Langeford of Little Rock, Gwendolyn Cannon of Memphis, Angela Matthew-Wills of Atlanta, Ga., Jacqulyn Belt, Shajuana Matthew and Veronica Matthew, all of Forrest City; two sons, Kenneth Matthew of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Andre Matthew of Memphis; a sister, Elmeter Crawford of Memphis; a brother, Eugene Matthew of Chicago, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Matthew will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, from 12 to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home, followed by a wake from 6 to 7 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Matthew will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Living God, with Pastor Mitchell Dedner officiating the service. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens Cemetery in Edmondson under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
