James Andrew Hazen

Mr. James Andrew Hazen, age 49, of Wynne, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mr. Hazen was born Jan. 23, 1952, in Thermopolis, Wyo., and was the son of Leo and Rachel Louise Gilstrap Hazen. He had worked has a carpenter and was currently employed by Flintco Construction Company in Memphis. Mr. Hazen was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Rolfe Chapel Assembly of God Church in Wynne.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Rose Swearengin Hazen in 2000 and his parents.

Mr. Hazen is survived by one son, William "Billy Bob" Swearengin of Fort Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Shelley Kinion of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Rhonda Vibbert of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Clara Craddock of Pawhuska, Okla. and Mary Lou Gore of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Steve Hazen of Clearwater, Fla., and three grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Hazen will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at 10 a.m., at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne, with Rev. Donnie Wilson officiating the service. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley, under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials be sent to the Rolfe Chapel Assembly of God in Wynne.


Charles L. McCain Sr.

Mr. Charles L. McCain Sr., age 78, of Forrest City, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis.

Mr. McCain was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Eupora, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of First Baptist Church in Forrest City and a long-time member of the Neiswander Baptist Church in Marked Tree.

Mr. McCain is survived by a daughter, Sandra Lawson of Germantown, Tenn.; three sons, Charles L. "Bubba" McCain Jr. of Forrest City, Jerry McCain of Marked Tree and Jimmy McCain of Lake Kiowa, Texas; two brothers, H.E. Brewer of Witicha Falls, Texas and Jack Brewer of Lepanto; four sisters, Joann Thompson of Marked Tree, Barbara Jackson and Diane Hood, both of Hughes and Mary Weeks Ball of Bruce, Miss.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. McCain were held today, Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Neiswander Baptist Church in Marked Tree, with Bro. Jesse Hodges and Bro. Danny Haflich officiating the service. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery, under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
