Mr. Talmadge Davis, age 81, of Wynne died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Davis was a retired rice and soybean farmer, a member of the Fitzgerald Baptist Church and lived in the Fitzgerald Crossing Community all of his life.
Mr. Davis was born June 13, 1921 in the Fitzgerald Crossing community and was the son of Dewey Davis and Mattie Morris Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. South Davis of Wynne; two sons, Oliver Davis and Don Davis, both of Wynne; a daughter, Ann Devazier of Caldwell; a brother, D.F. Davis of Colt; two sisters, Ernestine Vasser of Forrest City and Polly Robbins of Memphis; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Davis was held Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Kernodle Funeral Home. Services were held Thursday, July 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with burial following in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne with Rev. Ellis Jones officiating.
The family requests memorials be sent to Fitzgerald Baptist Church in Wynne.
Mr. Lloyd Lee Hamilton, Sr. was born on August 28, 1956 to
Virlee Holland Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton, Sr. in Marianna, Arkansas.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and rededicated
his life to Christ prior to his death under the leadership of
Rev. Albert McKinney.
Lloyd passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2002, doing what he loved
most -- being in the House of the Lord, singing and praising His
Holy Name. Lloyd was 45 years old when he died. His mother died
when Lloyd was only 10 years old and his father married Rosie
Hamilton. Lloyd's father died on April 6, 1993. Now, Lloyd leaves
Rosie to cherish his memory, along with his wife of 8 years, Sherri
Hamilton. Lloyd also leaves to cherish his memory, his children
from his marriage to Kinzella Hamilton, Rodney Hamilton (Ora)
and Tiffany Hamilton of Athens, Georgia, Lloyd Hamilton, Jr. (Angeline)
and Lashunya Nichols (Lee) of Forrest City, Arkansas, and also
his children, Kevin Hamilton, Constance Hamilton, Spencer Hamilton
of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Telly Arnold of Houston, Texas.
Lloyd is also survived by 7 brothers James Holland of Angleton,
Texas, Bobby Hamilton, Jr. and Dwight Hamilton (Flessie) of Marianna,
Arkansas, Percy Hamilton (Beverly), Terry Hamilton (Tasha), Courtney
Hamilton and John Graham (Lorraine) from Forrest City, Arkansas
and 8 sisters Barbara Holland, Diana Hamilton and Christine Hamilton
of Marianna, Arkansas, Deborah Anderson (John) and Chasity Scott
of Forrest City, Arkansas, Renea Lockhart (Dewayne) of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, Jackie Brooks (Andre) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Teresa
Moore (Darryl) of Tupelo, Mississippi, 13 loving grandchildren,
and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation services for Mr. Hamilton will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Hightower and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Hamilton will be held Sunday, July 14, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the El Cannon Missionary Baptist Church, Palestine, Arkansas with Rev. Albert McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the El Cannon Cemetery under the direction of Hightower and Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vertory Melendia McDaniel, age 66, of Marianna died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at her home.
Mrs. McDaniel was a retired cook for the Marianna School District and was born Feb. 13, 1936 in Widener.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her husband, James McDaniel Jr. of Marianna; three sons, Charley McDaniel, Earnest McDaniel and Benjamin McDaniel, all of Little Rock; two daughters, Charlene McDaniel and Brenda Allen, both of Little Rock; five brothers, Hulen Cottrell of Palestine, Calvin Cottrell of Chicago, Ill., Murvin Cottrell and Johnny Cottrell, both of Forrest City, and Leroy Cottrell of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Zeporia Hamilton of Marianna, Joyce Smith of Palestine, and Althaola Eaton of Forrest City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. McDaniel will be held Friday, July 12, 2002 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Elcannon Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Albert McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Elcannon Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Mrs. Francis Summage, age 89, of Forrest City died Thursday, July 4, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Summage was born Aug. 18, 1912 in Wabash and was the daughter of William Rucker and Mary Elizabeth Mooney Rucker.
Mrs. Summage is survived by four daughters, Ruby Phillips of Widener, Louise Rogers, Ella Mae Watson and Dorothy Summage, all of Forrest City; two sons, Edward Summage and Henry Summage, both of Forrest City; 38 grandchildren and 79 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Summage will be held Friday, July 12, 2002 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Community Voices Center. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
SSG Keith Allen Winters, age 35, of Hephzibah, Ga. died Friday, July 5, 2002.
Mr. Winters was a wire and cable installer with the United States Army and was born June 25, 1967 in Forrest City.
Mr. Winters is survived by his wife, Rhonda Winters of Hephzibah, Ga.; father, George Winters of Forrest City; son, Omar Terrel Winters of Milwaukee, Wis.; four daughters, Felicia Tarusha Barnum of New Orleans, La., Keisha Lanay Winters of Milwaukee, Wis., Nichelle Evelyn Nicholas of New Orleans, La., Diona René Ballard of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Dexter Bernard Winters and Alfred Anthony Winters of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Wanda S. Armstrong and Ashley N. Winters, both of Forrest City.
Visitation for Mr. Winters will be Friday, July 12, 2002 at Clay Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ at 10 a.m. with Elder Ransom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
