Mrs. Viola K. French, age 92, of Palestine, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, in Palestine.
Mrs. French born Sept. 6, 1909, in Tippo, Miss., the daughter of Grady Kyzer and Georgia Baker Kyzer. She made her home in Palestine for most of her life and she was a housewife and a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.
In 1924, Mrs. French married Ora French and he preceded her in death in 1958. She is survived by two sons, Vernon French and Virgil French, both of Palestine; a step-son, Floyd French of Goodwin; seven grandchildren, eight great-granchildren, 24 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. French was also preceded in death by twin sons, in 1930; a step son, Austin French in 1974; a step grandchild, Veda McCormack in 1990; a great-great-grandchild, Katy Billingsley in 1990 and a daughter, Geneva Thomas in 1997.
Visitation services for Mrs. French will be held, Monday, July 15, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. at in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. French will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ethel Brown Mosley, age 82, of Forrest City, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, in her home.
Mrs. Mosley, a retired nursing assistant, is survived by three daughters, Majorie Adams, Lorrine Loville, of Forrest City and Virginia Gale Thomason of San Francisco, Calif.; three sons, Julius Kendall of Haynes, Melvin Mosley of Galesburg, Ill., and Henry Mosley of Forrest City; a sister, Clorius Jean Ewing of Detroit, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mosley were held Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Union M. B. Church in Haynes with burial following in Clay Hill Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home.
