Odessa Cline

Mrs. Odessa Cline, age 95, of Marianna, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, in Marianna.

Mrs. Cline was born May 12, 1907, in Independence, Miss., the daughter of Aubrey Henderson and Pearl Dean Carpenter Henderson. She was a retired seamstress and a Baptist.

Mrs. Cline is survived by a son, Jim Cline of Redfield; three daughters, Pat Wilson and Marsha Bradshaw both of Marianna, and Rita Johnson of Forrest City; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cline were held Saturday, July 20, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. James Hinkle and Rev. Gene Craig officiating. Burial followed in Marianna Memorial Park under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.


Virgie L. Davis

Mrs. Virgie L. Davis, age 90, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.

Mrs. Davis, born Sept. 20, 1911, in Tuckerman, was the daughter of Raymond Ellis and Sadie Templeton Ellis. She made her home in Forrest City for most of her life and was a homemaker and a member of Lindauer Road Church of Christ.

In 1930 Mrs. Davis married Gibson Fisher Davis and he preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Taylor of Forrest City and Stella Maye Hancock of Piggott; three sons, William Davis of Jonesboro, Danny Davis of Forrest City and Ray Davis of Columbia, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mrs. Davis will be held Monday, July 22, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home Bro. Worley Ferguson officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Arnold Cemetery near Swifton. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests memorials be sent to Paragould Children's Home.
