Scott Lee Byrd, age 38, of Arlington, Texas, died Sunday, July
21, 2002.
Mr. Byrd was born May 4, 1964, to Lester and June Byrd, he
was a professional pilot and an active member of the Quiet Birdmen,
a fraternal organization of professional aviators.
Along with his parents of Arlington, Texas, survivors include
his wife, Gina; one brother, Jeff Byrd and wife, Ellie; two nieces,
Rachel and Natalie Byrd; and one nephew, Aaron Byrd.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening, July 25, 2002,
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan Chapel in Forrest City.
Funeral services for Mr. Byrd will be Friday morning, July 26, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at the Salem Methodist Church near Palestine with Bro. Kavin Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Mr. Nathaniel Flowers Green Jr., age 52, a native of Forrest City and resident of Dallas, Texas, died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Green was employed by Texaco Oil Co. in Dallas. He is survived by his wife, Rita Green; one son, Ronnie Dixon Jr. of the home; his parents, Nathaniel and Irma Green of Widener; two brothers, Donald Green of Memphis and Glenn Green of Widener; seven sisters, Lavern McClendon and Virginia Mitchell both of Forrest City, Annie Booker of Colleen, Texas, Myra McKenzie of Memphis, Darlene Green of Little Rock, Doretha Blue of Dayton, Ohio, and Carolyn Mills of Syracuse, N.Y.
Visitation for Mr. Green will be held Friday, July 26, 2002 at Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Williams officiating with burial following in Casteel Cemetery. Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kenneth Bernard Williams Sr., age 31, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Williams, born Aug. 1, 1970, in Forrest City, was the son of Renola Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy McShan Williams; a son, Kenneth B. Williams Jr., of Danville, Ill.; a sister, Linda Rollins, of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Lloyd Walls of Jonesboro, Claude Gaines of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Leo Williams of Forrest City and Bobby Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.
Visitation for Mr. Williams will be held Friday, July 26, 2002 in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Services will be Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 1 p.m. at The Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John H. Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Roosevelt Woodhouse, age 78, of St. Louis, MO died Friday,
July 12, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Woodhouse, born June 24, 1924 in Earle, AR was the son
of Johnny Augusta Woodhouse and Lizzie Newton Woodhouse. Mr. Woodhouse
was a member of Deborah Missionary Baptist Church, a Deacon and
retired from Alton and Southern Railroad Co.
Mr. Woodhouse was married to Arlena Martin Woodhouse for 58
years, and she survives him, along with one sister, Mary W. Dikes
of Chicago, IL; four brothers, James (Pearline) Woodhouse, Sr.
of Forrest City, AR, Johnny A. Woodhouse, Jr. of East St. Louis,
IL, Clarence (Betty) Woodhouse of Homewood, IL, and Matthew Woodhouse
of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two God
daughters, Meagon Bradley and Liz McClendon, both of St. Louis,
MO; one God son, Frank Williams of St. Louis, MO; along with other
friends and the entire Deborah Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Ted Foster & Sons White House Chapel North, St. Louis, MO under the direction of Ted Foster and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. T. Pierson officiated.
