Mr. Forrest "Junior" Baskins, age 51, of Colt, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at his home in Colt.
Mr. Baskins was born Nov. 14, 1950, in Cherry Valley and was the son of Forrest and Pauline Huey Baskins. He was the owner of Baskins and Sons Construction Company and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Mr. Baskins married Jayne McGuire in 1971 and she survives him along with his parents; three sons, Kevin Todd Baskins, Corey Stephen Baskins, and Brandon Jay Baskins, all of Colt; a daughter, Heather Nicole Walls of Heber Springs; two brothers, Robert Earl Baskins of Caldwell and Ralph Williams Baskins of Colt; two sisters, Betty King of Newark and Patricia Ann Lawson of Colt and six grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Baskins will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Morgan Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Morgan Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Cariker of First Nazarene Church of Branson, Mo. officiating. Burial will follow at Loughridge Cemetery in Colt under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Mr. Delbert Lee Milton, age 75, of Wynne, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at his home in Wynne.
Mr. Milton, born July 7, 1926, in Colt, was the son of Curtis Lee and Sarah Elizabeth Davis Milton. He was a mechanic at the former Murray Chevrolet in Wynne for over 35 years prior to retiring and he was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.
In March of 1945, Mr. Milton married the former Doris Jean Dennis, who survives him along with three sons, Delbert "Bert" Milton of Marked Tree, Marion Milton and Rodney Milton, both of Wynne; two daughters, Linda McClain of Lonoke and Darlene Cummings of Wynne; two sisters, Mary Wilson and Brenda Rushing, both of Wynne; two brothers, Elbert Milton of Forrest City and Curtis "Jr." Milton of Colt; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Milton was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Milton and Harold Milton and a grandson, Brian McClain.
Funeral services for Mr. Milton will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Bro. Robert Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Loughridge Cemetery in Colt under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.
The family requests all memorials be sent to the Cross County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Maye B. Stockton, age 94, of Forrest City, died Monday, June 17, 2002.
Mrs. Stockton was born April 8, 1908, in Banner and was the daughter of James Burgess and Martha Ann Reed Burgess. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life, where she worked at Kessinger's Dress Shop and was a member of Lindauer Road Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stockton is survived by one son, Lynn M. Stockton of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Ruth Poe of Harrison and Billie Jean Billingsley of Forrest City; one sister, Herbert "Dollie" Barton of Conway; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Stockton will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
