Mrs. Mandy Humphrey, age 68, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Memphis.
Mrs. Humphrey, a homemaker, was a member of Salem M.B. Church where she served as a deaconess and a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her husband, George Humphrey; four daughters, Lou-Bertha Sykes of Wynne, Queen Robinson of Memphis, Lucille Robinson of Detroit, Mich. and Inez Toney of Milwaukee, Wisc.; five sons, Eddie Lee Robinson and Ronnie Lee Robinson, both of Milwaukee, Wisc., Almus Robinson and Jimmy Lee Robinson, both of Detroit, Mich. and Sylvester Robinson of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers Charlie Washington and Jessie Washington, both of Forrest City; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Humphrey will be held Friday, June 21, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Salem M.B. Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Humphrey will be held Saturday, June 22, 2002, beginning at noon at Salem M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in West Memphis.
Mr. Ted Nelson, 50, of Hillsboro, Texas died Thursday, June
13, 2002, at a Waco hospital.
He was born July 21, 1951 in Forrest City, Arkansas, the son
of George Alvin and Lelia Maxine Wilder Nelson. He grew up and
graduated from high school in Forrest City. In 1985 he married
Belinda McNeely and moved to Hillsboro, Texas in 1986. He enjoyed
hunting and was active in football, baseball and boxing. He was
employed by the Texas Department of Transportation until August
2000. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: his wife, Belinda of Hillsboro, Texas; a
son, Jimmy Lee Nelson of Hillsboro, Texas; a daughter, Torri Burgess
of Forrest City; five brothers, George Alvin Nelson of Eaton Rapids,
Michigan, Ricky Nelson and Mike Nelson, both of Forrest City,
Arkansas, Don Nelson of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Billy Joe Nelson
of Blytheville, Arkansas; an aunt, Helen Owens of Flint, Michigan;
an uncle, W.C. (Dub) Wilder of Davison, Michigan; two grandchildren,
Gavin Pettus and Landon Burgess, both of Forrest City, Arkansas;
and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, 2002, at Edens
Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro, Texas with Dudley Watson and
Rev. Byron Tilton officiating. Interment was at New Woodbury Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Jeanette Pearson, age 42, of West Memphis, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Pearson, the daughter of Marie Shipp and Wilbert Shipp of West Memphis, worked in quality control. She is survived by her parents; four daughters, Keisha Coleman and Lashareal Tobar, both of West Memphis and Shaveal Williams and Whiquitas Tobar, both of Turrell; seven sons, Levi Phillips, of Marion, Jamal Pearson and Dewayne Phillips, both of West Memphis, Dwight Phillips of Elgin, Ill., Keith Phillips of Warren, Willie Tobar Jr. and Dejuan Williams, both of Turrell; two sisters, Ivory Jean Heath of Chicago, Ill. and Mary Ann Phillips of Marion; two brothers, Roy Williams of Marion and Clarence Pearson of Forrest City and seven grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Pearson will be held Friday, June 21, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in West Memphis. Funeral services for Mrs. Pearson will be held Saturday, June 22, 2002, at noon at Beautiful Zion Church in West Memphis with burial following in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in West Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
