Mrs. Linda Mathis Payne, age 37, of Jennette, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Payne was an assistant manager and a member of the Jennette City Council. She is survived by a daughter, Kennadea Payne of Jennette; a son, Kenneth Payne of Jennette; her parents, Plez Lucas and Lue Birder Lucas, both of Jennette; a sister, Margaret Mathis of Jennette; three brothers, Larry Mathis of Jennette, Troy Mathis of Forrest City and Carl Mathis of Lansing and a grandmother Rosie Gaines of Jennette.
Visitation for Mrs. Payne will be held on Friday, June 28, 2002, at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home Chapel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Rest in Jennette at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2002, with burial following at Julius Cemetery in Crossville under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home of West Memphis.
Mrs. Marguerite Hartman Young, age 84, of Tullahoma, Tenn., died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn.
Mrs. Young was born June 2, 1918, in Forrest City, the daughter of Chester Hartman and Garnet Matthews Hartman. She lived in Forrest City most of her life, was a housewife and worked at the Forrest City Library. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Mrs. Young married John F. Young in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Rose of Tullahoma, Tenn.; a brother, Calvin Hartman of Forrest City and two grandchildren.
Rosary for Mrs. Young will be held Friday, June 28, 2002, at 7 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2002. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
