Earnest Edward Gilliam Sr.

Mr. Earnest (Ernie) Edward Gilliam Sr., age 70, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at his home.

Mr. Gilliam was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Lonoke County, the son of George T. Gilliam and Lottie Ruth Burgess Gilliam. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Forrest City, an Army veteran and a retired insurance agent with Reliable Life Insurance Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Autry Gilliam in 1999, two brothers, Bill Gilliam and James Gilliam, and one sister, Lucille Gilliam Lott.

Survivors include a son, Earnest Edward (Eddie) Gilliam Jr., of Covington, Tenn.; a daughter, Janet Debra (Debbie) Gilliam of Forrest City and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, June 6, 2002, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Forrest City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Forrest City with Rev. Aubrey Jayroe, Rev. John Creasy, Rev. Trent E. Gilliam and Rev. Terry Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Wheatley under the direction of Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley.
