Mrs. Zelma Cortez "Corky" Stewart, a former resident of Forrest City, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Stewart was part of the original staff of Forrest Memorial Hospital which opened in 1958, where she earned her license as a Practical Nurse and worked until she retired to Bastrop, La., in 1975. She later moved to Houston to be near her daughter.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred P. Stewart; one daughter, Ann Hardy of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters and four sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stewart will be held in Bastrop, La., on Saturday, June 8, 2002.
