Thomas Joseph Baldwin

Mr. Thomas Joseph Baldwin age 53, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and San Carlos, Mexico, died on Thursday, March 7, 2002, Hermosillo, Mexico. His death came after a short illness.

Mr. Baldwin was born June 17, 1948, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the son of William T. Baldwin Jr. and Violet Dowless Baldwin. He was retired from the Salt Lake City Tribune. Mr. Baldwin was a Methodist and a veteran of Vietnam.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by his parents, William T. and Violet Baldwin of Forrest City, Arkansas; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Ruth Baldwin of Forrest City; a sister and brother-in-law Dian and Robert Bacon of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two nieces, Blakely Baldwin and Katie Bacon; two nephews, Trey Baldwin and Bill Bacon. Also special friends the Perez family of Senora, Mexico .

The burial will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at 10:00, at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Forrest City. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00, at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Rex Darling will be officiating the service. The family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the Melanoma Research Foundation. Under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Butch Bowen

Mr. Butch Bowen, age 50, of Russellville, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at his home.

Mr. Bowen was born July 8, 1951, in Forrest City, and was the son of the late John Edward and Maggie May Kimbal Bowen. He was a Baptist, a veteran of Vietnam, and a member of the VFW.

Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cierra Michelle Bowen.

He is survived by four sons, Butch Bowen of Newbern, Tenn., Donnie Partain of Dardanelle, John Bowen of Russellville and Douglas Bowen of Plainview; one daughter, Shannon Bowen of Dardanelle; one sister, Evelyn Scroggins of Lonoke; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Bowen will be announced at a later date under the direction of the Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle.


Mary Bob Lanier Fogg

Mrs. Mary Bob Lanier Fogg, age 80, of Memphis, formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, March 9, 2002.

Mrs. Fogg was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Forrest City, and was the daughter of John T. Lanier and Betta Adrian Lanier. She had been a chemist, an English teacher, a housewife, a member of the Garden Club, and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Forrest City.

Mrs. Fogg was married to Ed Fogg in 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by one son, Lanier Fogg of Memphis;; three daughters, Mary Faith Floyd of West Memphis, Patricia Freeman of Edison, N.J. and Barbara Frazer of Green Bay, Wis.; one brother, John Lanier Jr. of Seabring, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Fogg will be Monday, March 11, 2002, at 6 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Fogg will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, with Father Tom Newman officiating the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

The family request memorials be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
