Mr. Donald K. Burns, age 86, of Palestine, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.
Mr. Burns was born Jan. 16, 1916, in Palestine, and was the son of David K. Burns and Georgia Martin Burns. He lived in Palestine all of his life, where he was a farmer and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Burns was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Emily D. Burns of the home.
Funeral services for Mr. Burns were held Monday, March 18, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, with Rev. Andy Cates and Rev. Steve Turner officiating the service. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Hospice or to Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
