Mr. Theo Lee "Pete" Holland, age 70, of Forrest City, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Holland was born May 16, 1931, in Forrest City, and was the son of Theo Lee Holland, Sr. and Easter Brown Holland Reed. He made his home in Forrest City all of his life and worked in water well irrigation.
Mr. Holland was preceded in death by a daughter, Jimetta Lynn Morris in 1997.
He married Bertha Davenport in 1959, and she survives him along with a son, Theo Lee Holland of New Orleans, La.; three daughters, Ruth Ann Douglas and Janet Marie Lilly, both of Clarksville, Tenn. and Cathy Lynn Smith of Spooner, Wis.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Holland will be Tuesday, March 26, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Holland will be conducted Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. Hubert Smith officiating the service under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Jack Monroe Ming, age 61, of Forrest City, formerly of Marked Tree, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Crestpark Skilled Care in Forrest City.
Mr. Ming, a U.S. Army veteran, was a retired rural development loan officer for the U.S. government. He was a member of the Forrest Hills United Methodist Church and was involved in the United Methodist Men's club, the American Legion and Blanntown Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dicksie Louise and Robert Manley Ming.
Mr. Ming is survived by his wife, Claudia Ming of Forrest City; two sons, James Ming of Southaven, Miss. and Jason Ming of Jonesboro; a daughter, Jennifer Adams of Northfield, Ill.; two sisters, Sarah Payne of West Memphis and Emma Lou Ming of Jonesboro; a brother, Jerry Ming of Marked Tree and two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ming were held today, Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery with Dr. Floyd Ray officiating the service. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis was in charge of arrangements.
