Ora Jones

Mrs. Ora Jones, age 98, of Forrest City, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mrs. Jones, born Jan. 17, 1904, in Scott, was a retired farmer. She is survived by two sons, Dewett Jones and Horace Jones, both of Cleveland, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren and 60 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be held, Friday, March 29, 2002, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home and Saturday, March 30, 2002, from 11 a.m. to noon at Pilgrim Rest Christianity Church in Jeanette. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, at noon at Pilgrim Rest Christianity Church in Jeanette with Rev. Oscar Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Gail Anita Winfrey

Mrs. Gail Anita Winfrey, age 47, of Arkadelphia, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Baptist Health Center in Arkadelphia.

Mrs. Winfrey, born Feb. 27, 1955, in Forrest City, was the daughter of the late Elmond and Ophelia Jones Winfrey. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served in the missionary department and as an usher and choir director.

Mrs. Winfrey is survived by two sons, Megaenus Davis of Houston, Texas and Corey Davis of Arkadelphia; two daughters, Ashley Davis and Nyesha Winfrey, both of Arkadelphia; five brothers, Rev. Alex Winfrey Sr. of Arkadelphia; Roy Winfrey of San Antonio, Texas, Frederick Winfrey of Hot Springs, Keith Winfrey of Columbus, S.C., and Rev. Barry Winfrey Sr., of Fulton; five sisters, Betty Brown of Forrest City, Linda Davis of Chicago, Ill., Sandra Johnson and Vickie Ellis, both of Arkadelphia and Angenett Hill of Fulton and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Winfrey will be held, Monday, April 1, 2002, at 1 p.m. at New Sardis M.B. Church in Forrest City with Rev. Alex Winfrey Sr. and Rev. Barry Winfrey Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in New Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
