JONESBORO -- Forrest City senior Sarah Eldridge fired a 47 which earned medalist honors for her in Tuesday's prep golf matches against Paragould at Jonesboro.
In three outings so far, Eldridge has rounds of 48, 46 and Tuesday's 47.
Paragould's Brittney Williams shot a 73.
Jonesboro did not field a girls' team this season.
The Forrest City boys team finished second with a team score of 174 in a trimatch against Jonesboro and Paragould.
Jonesboro won the match with a round of 147 while Paragould finished with a 203.
Four Hurricane players finished with rounds below 40 as Willie Little earned medalist honors with a 34. Matt Sullivan and Steve Cox each finished with a 37 round and Marcus Hyffer shot a 39.
Forrest City's best finish came from Jake Wade, who finished with a 42. Chad Halbert and Brian Hacker each shot a 43 while Josh Coleman finished with a score of 46.
"It's tough to get a win when the other team is consistently shooting below 40," said Forrest City Golf Coach Tommy Wheetley. "Using the scoring system where we throw out the high score, Jonesboro had the advantage counting four scores below 40 while our four lowest scores were all above 40."
In the boys' junior varsity matches, Jonesboro used a pair of 37s from Jonathan Davidson and Chase Owens to post a 74-129 win over Forrest City's Klint Kowen (67) and John Scott Carroll (62).
