Eugene Austin

Mr. Eugene Austin, age 82, of Forrest City, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock.

Mr. Austin was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Elaine and was a retired maintenance man and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Austin is survived by two daughters Icy Dee Austin and Phyllis Elerby both of Little Rock and five sons Beyah Aluqdah, Gene Edward Austin and Marvin Austin all of St. Louis Mo. and Willard Austin and Gary Wayne Austin both of Little Rock.

Visitation for Mr. Austin will be held at Clay Funeral Home Friday, May 31, 2002 from 12 p.m.. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church June 1, 2002, at 11 a.m., Rev. Ronald A. Williams. Burial to follow at Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Virginia Peacock

Mrs. Virginia Peacock, age 71, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Peacock was born in Forrest City on Dec. 4, 1930, and was a retired line inspector for Sanyo Manufacturing.

Mrs. Peacock is survived by her husband, William Cotelia Peacock of Forrest City; three sons, Cecil M. Peacock, Reginor G. Peacock and Henry E. Peacock, all of Forrest City; two daughters, Brenda A. Peacock of Wake Village, Texas and Gwinda R. Wright of Forrest City; two brothers, James White Jr. and William Sherman White, both of Forrest City and two sisters, Lillie M. Ward of Los Angeles, Calif. and Wilma J. Johnson of Forrest City.

Visitation for Mrs. Peacock will be held at Clay Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2002 from 1 to 5 p.m. and at Prosperity M.B. Church on Saturday, June 1, 2002 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church at Saturday, June 1, 2002, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Uzziah Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Cora Stover

Mrs. Cora Stover, age 54, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.

Mrs. Stover was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Danville, Ill., and was a member of Beck Spur Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stover was married to Parker Lee Stover of Forrest City and is survived by him; two daughters, Pamela Feuston of Muncie, Ind. and Lori Jones of Danville, Ill.; two step-daughters, Valarie Andrews of Wynne and Renee Dunn of Memphis; a step-son, Randall Stover of Brownsville, Texas; a sister, Pam Bann of Danville and a brother, Mike Bann of Danville; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stover will be held Friday, May 31, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree with Rev. Wes Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at Tyronza Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
