Mrs. Lon Jo "Lonnie" Hargett Kimbro, age 80, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002.
Mrs. Kimbro, born May 2, 1922, in Blytheville, was the daughter of Letha Oakes and Jack Hargett. Mrs. Kimbro and her late husband, Hunter L. Kimbro, were former residents of Forrest City where they jointly owned Arkansas Paint and Glass. Mrs. Kimbro was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of Homer Townes Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Church Women. She was also an associate member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church of Jonesboro and a member of Forrest City Musical Coterie and an associate of the Forrest City Junior Auxiliary. Mrs. Kimbro also worked and served as manager of the Forrest City Colony Shop for 18 years.
Mrs. Kimbro is survived by her daughter, Karen Lynn "Kitty" Weatherford of Jonesboro; a son, Malcolm Keith Kimbro of Little Rock; a sister, O'Weta Stone of Forrest City; a grandson and two step-grandsons.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kimbro were held, today, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City, Cornerstone United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
