Julious Arthur Clark

Mr. Julious Arthur Clark, age 71, of Forrest City, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.

Mr. Clark was born March 2, 1931, in Widener. He is survived by eight daughters, Diane Clark, Brenda Clark, Patricia Clark and Margie Clark, all of Battle Creek, Mich., Connie Dedner and Janet Johnson, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Diane Smith and Charlotte Coleman, both of Forrest City; a son, Hugh Smith of Little Rock; two sisters, Tarlee Bradford and Ethel Dancy, both of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, J.E. Wynne of Clarksdale, Miss., Ozell Clark of San Diego, Calif., Robert Clark of Salt Lake City, Utah and Andrew Bradford of Detroit, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Visitation services for Mr. Clark will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at noon at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Juster Doyle officiating. Burial services will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Mable Trusty Ellis

Mrs. Mable Trusty Ellis, age 79, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002.

Mrs. Ellis was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Forrest City, the daughter of E.C. Trusty and Modenia Milford Trusty. She lived in Forrest City for all of her life, was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ellis married Raymond Ellis in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Anne Pipkin of Forrest City and Donna Morgan of Memphis; one sister, Donnie Bright of Colt; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. James Dean officiating and Ralph Pipkin assisting. Burial services will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.


Gladys Thigpen Levitt

Mrs. Gladys Thigpen Levitt, age 90, of Goodwin, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at the Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mrs. Levitt was born May, 21, 1912, in Palestine, the daughter of Mart Thigpen and Josephine Dover Thigpen. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and was a housewife and a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.

Mrs. Levitt married George M. Levitt in 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1944. She is survived by two sons, Arley Levitt of Bartlett, Tenn., and Wayne Levitt of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Darlene Miller of Forrest City; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Levitt in 1954.

Visitation for Mrs. Levitt will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine. Burial services will follow in Salem Cemetery.
