Mr. Barry Wayne Rushing, age 46, of Atoka, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Rushing worked for Memphis Light, Gas and Water as a crew leader lineman for 24 years, a member of the IBEW union and the Lighthouse Fellowship Assembly of God.
Mr. Rushing is survived by his wife, Judy D. Rushing; a daughter, Brittany Joyce Rushing of Bartlett, Tenn.; a son, Bryan Wayne Rushing of Bartlett, Tenn.; his parents, Arbert L. Rushing and Charlene S. Rushing of Forrest City; a sister, Gwynda L. Irving of Millington, Tenn.; and a brother, Larry N. Rushing of Dardanelle.
Funeral services for Mr. Rushing will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the Northridge-Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, Tenn. Burial will follow in the Northridge-Woodhaven Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Liver Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Frank Tillman Shackelford, age 87, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, in Memphis.
Mr. Shackelford was born July 30, 1915, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Edward Waldron Shackelford and Maggie Park Shackelford. He had worked as a Lincoln Mercury dealer, was a former president of Forrest City Machine Works, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Forrest City.
Mr. Shackelford married Betta Lanier in 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by one daughter, Betta Shackelford Volkamer of Fayetteville; a son, John Edward Shackelford of Sante Fe; and two grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Frank Tillman Shackelford Jr., in 1979 and Thomas Waldron Shackelford in 1961.
Funeral services for Mr. Shackelford will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Burial services will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
