FCity Blue girls get win

Fareeda Washington scored 12 points and Astrain Allen added 10 to help lead the Forrest City Blue Lady Mustangs past the White team 31-21 Thursday night at Mustang Arena.

It was the first win of the season for the Blue team.

Both teams ended the first period tied at 4-4 and the Blue used a 10-9 second quarter to take a 14-13 lead at the half.

An 8-2 Blue run in the third pushed their lead to 22-15.

In eighth-grade boys action, the Blue Mustangs started three seventh-graders -- Chris Tripp, Kevin Tiggert and Tyrice Bradley -- but it wasn't enough as the Blue eighth-graders inked out a 26-16 win.

Hollis Nichols led the White team with 13 points while Kellon Bowman led the Blue with six points.

As of press time, no information was available on the varsity boys' game.
