The Colt Community Development Corporation will host "Christmas at the William Stone House" again this year.
The "Christmas House" will be open Monday through Friday, Dec. 9 through 13, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Santa Claus will be present that Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be available for a small fee.
Visitors can browse through "Mrs. Claus' Bake Shop" for special treats. Some hand made gift items will be available.
Always a popular attraction, the "Kids Only Shopping Room" will be open.
The historic William Stone House is located one block east of the intersection of Arkansas highways 1 and 306 in Colt. All proceeds from this event will be used for the restoration and maintenance of the house.
Several Forrest Citians had their vehicles damaged Wednesday when vandals struck.
According to reports from the Forrest City Police Department, four cars were damaged Wednesday when vandals spray painted vehicles on the south side of Forrest City. According to the reports, the vehicles of Pakita Rogers, 2029 Peevey St., and Jimmy Rogers of Cherry Valley, had their vehicles vandalized.
In the same area, the vehicles of David Burgess, 2001 Williams St., and Freddie Brown, 2038 Williams St., were damaged. According to the report, the Brown vechicle was damaged between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
With temperatures falling as fast as the leaves, many Forrest Citians are tidying up their yards in preparation for Christmas decorations before the cold weather sets in. Temperatures for the weekend are expected to warm up giving many a good opportunity to finish off the yard work for the fall.
