Rubie V. Davis

Mrs. Rubie V. Davis, age 77, of Forrest City, formerly of Earle, AR, died Saturday, October 5, 2002, at her home. She was a professional cook and a member of Salem M.B. Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters, Minnie V. Lockhart and LaFealle Long, both of Forrest City; two sons, Frank Davis of Cincinnati, OH and Ulva Davis of Forrest City; one sister, Parceanur Ann Burgess of Decatur, AL; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Kinnell; a brother, Wavery Kinnell and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Davis will be held Friday, October 11, 2002, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at W.H. Johnson Furneral Home Chapel in Earle, AR. Visitation will also be held Saturday, October 12, 2002, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Salem M.B. Church in Forrest City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2002, 12 noon at Salem M.B. Church. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery in Earle, AR.

W.H. Johnson Funeral Home of Earle, AR is in charge of arrangements.


Mable Parker Dice

Mrs. Mable Parker Dice, age 92, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002 in Dallas, Texas where she had made her home for the past several months.

Mrs. Dice was born September 6, 1910 near Palestine, Arkansas to Virgil Robert Parker and Nora Beard Parker. She married James Edward Dice in 1937 and they enjoyed 62 years of happily married life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a charter member of United Methodist Women, Sunday School teacher and youth leader. With her husband, she worked many years as a volunteer for the American Cancer and Heart Societies, staffed the polls on election day, was active in the PTA and was a sponsor for Delta Beta Sigma sorority.

She is survived by her daughter Lana Diane Van Giesen and husband Rev. Duane Van Giesen; Jan Dice and husband Larry Brasel; grandson Preston Smith and wife Christiana; and great-granddaughter Ashton Lynn Rone all of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by brothers Vernon Parker and wife Sybil of Yellville, Arkansas and Elmer Parker and wife Florence of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas and loving nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dice, and granddaughter, Lori Thompson and brothers Robert Parker and Melvin Parker and sister Alice Parker.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 13, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City. Burial will be in Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.


Louis Dinwiddie Jr.

Mr. Louis Dinwiddie Jr., age 39, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Dinwiddie was born June 12, 1963, in Forrest City, the son of Louis Dinwiddie Sr. and Edna Lee Carr Dinwiddie.

Mr. Dinwiddie is survived by his mother of Forrest City; one daughter, Chiquita Stanback of Forrest City; one son, Louis Dinwiddie III of Forrest City; three brothers, Billy Joe Carr, James Dinwiddie and Walter Dinwiddie all of Forrest City; and one grandchild.

Visitation for Mr. Dinwiddie will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Williams Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder James Jenning officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.


Trent Erwin Warren

Mr. Trent Erwin Warren, age 38, of Forrest City died Friday, Oct. 5, 2002, at his home.

Mr. Warren, born Nov. 16, 1963, in Forrest City, was the son of William Warren and Bernice Crawford Warren. He is survived by his father; seven brothers, Barry Wofford of Toledo, Ohio, Glen Sanford of Simmesport, La., Craig Warren of Memphis, Reggie Warren of Jonesboro, and Gary Crawford, Schaun Warren and Dewayne Warren, all of Forrest City; four sisters, Viveca Warren of Forrest City, Terry Sanford of Simmesport, La., Sonya Rogers of Rockford, Ill., and Daphane Warren of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation services for Mr. Warren will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary with burial following at Casteel Cemetery. Woodhouse Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
