So far, so good, this month for the home teams

By FRED CONLEY

T-H Sports Editor

September wasn't a bad month for the Forrest City football teams when playing at home.

But, October, so far, has been much better.

Combined, the junior and senior high football teams, including the junior varsity Mustangs, have put together a stellar 8-1 mark in games played at Sam Smith Stadium this month.

Following Forrest City's loss to Searcy on Friday, Oct. 4, the Mustang teams have now won eight straight games at home.

Last month, the Forrest City teams combined, were 9-7 at home.

Overall (at home and away) during the month of October, Forrest City football teams have posted a 9-6 mark.

There are three home games remaining to be played this month -- tonight when the Forrest City Blue Mustangs host West Memphis East, Friday night, when the Mustangs host Jacksonville and next Thursday, when the Blue Mustangs host Wynne.

Tonight, the Blue Mustangs can lock up third place in the AAAAA-East with a victory over East, winless for the year.

West Memphis West remains unbeaten in the league and Jonesboro Annie Camp is second with one loss.

In other games tonight, Annie Camp hosts West Memphis Wonder and Jonesboro MacArthur plays at East
