Mr. Owen Hollis "Bunch" Almond, age 89, of Brinkley, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at the Hazen Nursing Center.
Mr. Almond was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Gillett, the son of Robert Payne Almond and Minnie Ina Sibley Almond. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Almond is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Almond; a daughter, Holly Baxter of Forrest City; a son, Robert Almond of Texas; two brothers, James A. Almond of Mountain Home and Louis Almond of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Annie Mae Carlile of North Little Rock, Jennie Freeman and Luna Rose Bauman, both of Stuttgart and Martha Gross of Nesbitt, Miss. ; and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Almond will be held Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley. Funeral services for Mr. Almond will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Brinkley with Rev. John Soward and Rev. Patty Soward officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley. Fowler Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Mary McGhee Cobbage, of Chicago, Ill., and formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at her daughter's home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
