John D. Henley IV, "Butch", died August 15, 2002,
after a long battle with heart disease. Gulf Breeze knew him as
a florist with great style and flair. Forrest City, AR knew him
as the third generation to operate Henley's Florist. Butch's floral
artistry has touched many lives coast to coast.
Butch's greatest love was his family. He is survived by his
wife Paula Chapman Henley, two sons, Russell Henley, Cape Coral,
FL and John R. Henley, Atlanta, GA. Four stepchildren, Stephen
and Matthew Bickelhaupt, Cape Coral, FL,; Diane Mingus and Mary-Ann
Simpier, Bellevue, OH. Three sisters, Christy Bryan, Milton, FL;
Karen Wuest, Gulf Breeze, FL and Kathy McCuller, Stonybrook, NY.
Butch had fourteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Butch was well known and deeply loved by all who knew him.
His generous spirit, and great appreciation for life, and all
it had to offer, enriched many lives.
A memorial will be held in Gulf Breeze, FL in April to honor Butch's life. Notification pending.
Mrs. Frankie Hill Loveless, age 91, of Wynne, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Loveless, born Jan. 1, 1911, in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Frank Hill and Nancy Morgan Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Loveless was also a waitress and cook for a number of years at the former Yellow Jacket Cafe in Wynne.
In 1930, Mrs. Loveless married Elmer C. Loveless and he preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by six sons, Junior Loveless of Cabool, Mo., Elbert Loveless of Hickory Ridge, Jerry Loveless of Colt, David Loveless of Elgin, Ill., Johnny Loveless of Anna, Ill., and Mack Loveless of Dongola, Ill.; two daughters, Ann Hastings of Mountain Grove, Mo. and Emma Cheney of Lebanon, Mo.; 41 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Edward Loveless and Vernon Loveless; a daughter, Mary Ann Loveless; a sister and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Loveless were held today, Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne with Rev. T.G. Ramsey officiating. Burial followed in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.
Mrs. Jane Moore Steward, age 68, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Steward, born Oct. 28, 1933, in Forrest City, was the daughter of Williams Moore and Louise Ferguson Moore. She was a former employee of Yale and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a lifetime resident of Forrest City.
In 1969 Mrs. Steward married Charles Steward, and he preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Kathi Spencer Martin of Forrest City; a son, William "Bill" Moore Spencer of Indianapolis, Ind.; her mother; a sister, Suzanne Moore Hill of Heth and three grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Steward will be held Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Steward will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.
