Stan Siler's White Junior Mustangs will make the short road trip to Wynne tonight in search of their first win of the year.
Siler's Mustangs lost to Brinkley 20-14 on the road in last Thursday's opener.
It is the first game of the season for the Junior Yellowjackets.
"There scouted us last week," Siler said, "So we have changed a couple of things this week in practice and added a couple of new plays."
Other than that, Siler said he will use basically the same personnel as last week.
For Rich Trail's Blue Mustangs, tonight's home game with West Memphis Wonder will be more of a test than last week's opening 46-0 win against Marianna.
"Wonder lost to East last week but I'm sure they will be looking forward to coming to our place tonight," Trail said. "We have to be ready."
Trail said he will stay with his alternating quarterback system, using both Marcus Fair and Stephon Weaver.
"Marcus started last week, so I will probably start Weaver tonight," Trail said. "Both will play a lot."
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Sam Smith Stadium.
*The Forrest City seventh-grade Mustangs will open their season Saturday, Sept. 14, when they host West Memphis East at 9 a.m.
Forrest City Coach Tommy Wheetley said he has trimmed the roster down to about 45 players and all will see action Saturday.
"We will just go with one team this year instead of two, like we had thought about doing," Wheetley said. "I don't know how competitive we will be Saturday, but we will be trying to put some points on the board."
The Blue Mustang eighth-grade team will also see their first action Saturday, taking the field at approximately 10:30 a.m., facing West Memphis East.
CABOT -- Given that a team makes its most improvement of the season from week one to week two, then Cabot Coach Mike Malham and company should be able to spring back from last week's disastrous 37-15 loss to No. 4 Conway.
Those kind of losses just don't happen very often to Cabot.
The Panthers take on the Class AAAA Little Rock Fair War Eagles at 7:30 p.m., Friday night.
The loss to Conway surely isn't the end of the world or the season for Cabot.
And Cabot isn't the only team that lost its opening game, so did the War Eagles, falling 38-0 to Little Rock McClellan.
Both teams will be looking for a victory. Cabot will be looking for redemption.
A year ago, Cabot downed Fair 14-0 which kick-started the Panthers' 10-game winning streak which carried them into the second round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs.
Cabot's loss to Conway that could only be labeled uncharacteristic. But don't take anything away from Conway, a team which appears to be on the verge of having a very successful run this season.
"It looked like we didn't even practice, but we're going to get better, I can promise you that," Malham said.
"Cabot is Cabot. I seem to recall they came into the game last year after having lost to Conway, and they still managed to take it to us," said Fair Coach Randy Rutherford.
Rutherford added that "Coach Malham just teaches his kids how to win. They just line up and get after you on both sides of the football."
Fair is coming off a 2-8 year.
The Panthers, who are members of the AAAAA-East Conference, enter Friday's game as an 11-point favorite.
"We're going to show up and play as hard as we can," Rutherford said.
In other AAAAA-East games last week, Blytheville downed Osceola 26-0; Jonesboro shutout New Madrid, Mo. 37-0; West Memphis fell 42-21 to Little Rock Central; Searcy toppled Sylvan Hills 43-37; Jacksonville doubled up on Little Rock Mills in a 28-14 win; Mountain Home struggled in a 35-7 loss to Fayetteville; and the Forrest City Mustangs fell to Wynne 28-7.
Friday night's East schedule has Forrest City hosting Marianna; Blytheville at Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Jonesboro hosting Wynne; Mountain Home against Rogers; Jacksonville at cross-town rival North Pulaski, West Memphis at Osceola and Searcy hosting Batesville.
The Forrest City men's fall softball league will play a full schedule of games tonight, beginning at 6 p.m. when Miller Insurance (1-0) takes on Marion Performance (0-1).
M&T Paving (1-0) will go against Barnes Timber at 7 p.m. while Morgan (0-1) takes on Section 8 Youth (0-1) at 8 p.m. Gym 2000 (11-0) closes out the schedule against Wynne Sports World (0-1) at 9 p.m.
