The Hughes Blue Devils have scored a combined 105 points in their last two 3AA Conference football games.
They have held their last two opponents to a combined 22 points.
All total, through the first three games, the Blue Devils have put up 113 points and given up 46.
That leaves the Blue Devils, who dropped down from Class AAA this season into AA, locked in a three-way tie for first place in the league with Cross County and Marked Tree.
Probably as it should be.
Cross County is the only 3AA team that is still unbeaten at 3-0 overall. Hughes and Marked Tree are both 2-1. They are the only three teams in the league with a winning record.
Earle, Parkin, Salem, and Walnut Ridge are all 1-2 overall while Palestine-Wheatley, Rector and Turrell have yet to record a victory and are 0-3.
The Blue Devils will host the surprising Cross County Thunderbirds Friday while Parkin travels to Marked Tree.
The Thunderbirds who own victories over Rector and P-W, will face their first real test of the season against Hughes.
Palestine-Wheatley, picked as the fourth best team in the 3AA in preseason, have struggled offensively scoring just 55 points in three games.
The Forrest City seventh-grade Mustangs and the Forrest City Blue eighth-grade team will host WMemphis West tonight at Sam Smith beginning at 5 p.m.

Entry fees are $100 per team and deadlince to enter is Oct. 2.
A senior men's division will also be included in the two-day tournament.
