Anne McGehee McCain, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at her home in Widener. She
was born on December 29, 1921, in Okolona, Mississippi and was
preceded in death by her father, George Walter McGehee; mother,
Kate Hulsey McGehee; brother, George Walter McGehee; sister, Mary
Winifred Fowler. She is survived by Bill McCain, her husband of
56 years; daughter Katheryn (Betty) McGuigan of Deer Park, Texas;
son, Bill McCain, Jr. of Houston, Texas; son Robert McCain of
Forrest City, Arkansas; 5 grandsons, Chip and Clayton McCain of
Houston, Texas; Michael, Rob and Ben McGuigan of Deer Park Texas;
and numerous relatives and friends.
Anne was a long-time member of the Widener Methodist Church
and will be remembered as a loving, caring person who enriched
the lives of her many friends and relatives.
Visitation services will be held at the Stevens Funeral Home
Chapel Wednesday, April 16, 2003, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCain will be held at the Stevens
Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, with burial following
in Forrest Park.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Widener Methodist Church, Widener, Arkansas.
Mrs. Rosie Metcalf, age 84, of Forrest City, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare in West Memphis.
Mrs. Metcalf, born Oct. 8, 1918 in Forrest City, was the daughter of Tob Brandon and Charlotte Sweeney Metcalf. She was a member of Union Grove M.B. Church and is survived by two sons, Mose Metcalf of Forrest City, Alvin Metcalf of Rochester, N.Y.; four daughters, Flora Avant and Dessie Metcalf, both of Forrest City, Irene Metcalf of Compton, Calif., and Fannie Mae Metcalf of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Nora Cunningham and Josephine Gatling, both of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Loraze Brandon of Indiana and Nathaniel Brandon of Chicago, Ill.; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation services for Mrs. Metcalf will be held on Friday, April 18, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary with a wake following from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. David Avant officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
