Mrs. Sybil Marie Grimes Davis, age 93, of Palestine, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Davis was born May 27, 1909, in Tupelo, Miss., the daughter of Nick Grimes and Mary Adell Clark Grimes. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a housewife and attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palestine.
Mrs. Davis married Floyd B. Davis in 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1970. She is survived by two sons, James Davis and Terry Davis both of Palestine; one daughter, Mary Ellen Davis of Palestine; one brother, Wilbur W. Grimes of Gulf Shores, Ala.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Davis will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Steven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.
Mary Carolyn Lloyd, 65, loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend died April 20, 2003 Easter Day at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest
City. She was born December 25, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee and
was proceeded in death by her father, Walter H. Fox and her mother,
Dorothy L. Kirkland Fox of Forrest City, Arkansas. She is survived
by James (Joe) L. Lloyd, Sr., her husband of 48 years; son, James
L. Lloyd, Jr. and his wife, Ruth of Forrest City, Arkansas; son,
Walter M. Lloyd of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter, Karen J. Mamalakis,
her husband, Jon and granddaughter, Acacia of Lafayette, Louisiana.
She also leaves behind a special friend, Susie Conder of Forrest
City, Arkansas.
Mary Carolyn was a long time member of the First Baptist Church
of Forrest City, Arkansas, a member of the Forrest City Women
of the Moose. She held many positions and awards. She will be
remembered as a loving, caring person who enriched the lives of
her many friends and relatives.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April
22, 2003 at Forest Hill Funeral Homes and Cemeteries South in
Memphis, Tennessee.

Mr. Robert Leo Smith III, age 26, of Florence, Ala., died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the ECM Hospital in Florence.
Mr. Smith, born March 9, 1977, was the son of James Floyd Fannin and Veda Sue Crippen Fannin. He was married to Melissa Smith, and she survives him along with his parents, of Quinlan, Texas; his brother, William Scott of Florence; two step-sisters, Tammy and Frances and one step-brother, Jimmy.
Visitation services for Mr. Smith will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Stevens' Chapel with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Marie Stewart, age 83, of Forrest City, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Widener. She was a retired cook with the Forrest City School District.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by three sons, R.L. Stewart of Los Angeles, Calif., Charles Stewart of St. Louis, Mo. and Frank Stewart of Conway; three daughters, Charlye M. Nichols and Walker Ann Gray both of Forrest City and India Williams of Little Rock; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Stewart will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Christ temple Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
