Mrs. Frances Jayroe Huckaba, age 87, of Palestine, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Huckaba was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Palestine, the daughter of Sam Jayroe and Ida Lee Walker Jayroe. She made her home in Palestine all of her life, was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine.
Mrs. Huckaba married Lawrence Huckaba in 1943, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Davison of Forrest City; six sons, Charlie Lawrence Huckaba , Bobby Huckaba and Rickey Huckaba all of Forrest City, Raymond Huckaba of Clarksdale, Miss., George Huckaba of Desterhand, La. and Donald Huckaba of Palestine; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Huckaba and a great-grandson, Jordan Davison.
Visitation for Mrs. Huckaba will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Steven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.
