Rayfield Bond

Mr. Rayfield Bond, age 44, of Palestine, died Monday, April 21, 2003.

Mr. Bond was born July 3, 1958, the son of Charlie Bond Sr. and Leona Poole Bond. He was employed by Sanyo Manufacturing Corporation for 12 years and was a member of the Union Hill M.B. Church in Palestine where he served as an usher.

Mr. Bond is survived by his wife Worlean Bond of the home; two daughters, Lanae Bond of Jonesboro and Crystal Bond of Forrest City; one son, Julian Bond of the home; his mother of Palestine; five brothers, Tom Bond of South Bend, Ind., James Bond, Danny Bond, and Larry Bond all of Palestine, and Charlie Bond Jr. of Little Rock; seven sisters, Georgia Hardy, Francis Humphrey, Dorothy Poole and Carrie Smith, all of Forrest City, Venice Lana of South Bend, Ind., Inez Williams of Palestine and Leona Bond of Little Rock; three grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Visitation services for Mr. Bond will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003, from 12 to 5 p.m. in People's Funeral Home Chapel. A wake will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. at the Beth Salem M.B. Church with burial following in Union Hill Church Cemetery in Palestine.


Mary Lou Pierce

Mrs. Mary Lou Pierce, age 75, of Forrest City, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at her home.

Mrs. Pierce was born July 26, 1927, in Marianna, the daughter of Cecil Andrews and Alma Canada Andrews. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by two sons, Steve Abbott and Jerry Abbott both of Forrest City; four daughters, Paula Philyaw and Karen Keemum both of Forrest City, Betty Osburn of Marianna and Gina Whitlatch of Harrisburg; two brothers, Merlon Andrews of Turrell and Hubert Andrews of Evanston, Wyo.; one sister Claudine Clark of Forrest City; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mrs. Pierce will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Brother Wes Beavers officiating. Burial will follow in Marianna Memorial Park.
