Mr. Roy Conwell Jr., age 68, of Forrest City died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Conwell, born Oct. 18, 1934, was the son of Roy and Myrtle Conwell. He lived most of his life in Haynes and Forrest City and was a former employee of Sanyo Manufacturing.
Mr. Conwell is survived by his mother; one brother, Hython Conwell of Forrest City; four sisters, Minne Conwell of St. Louis, Aretha Blancehtt of Haynes, Eva Mason of Beck Spur and Georgia C. Tyus of Forrest City. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Grandberry, Willie Myles Conwell and George Conwell and one sister, Wyoma Winfrey.
Visitation services for Mr. Conwell will be held on Friday, April 4, 2003, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of People's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. in People's Chapel. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Lorene "Flossy" Price Griham, age 76, of Madison, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003.
Mrs. Griham is survived by her husband, Charlie Griham; seven daughters, Linda Hicks, Evelyn Nicks, Mary Hall, Joyce Alexander, Donna Johnson, Diane Edwards and Sharon Griham; three sons, Billy Griham, Harold Griham and Lydell Griham; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Griham will be held on Friday, April 4, 2003, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Robinson Mortiary in North Little Rock and on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the St. John Baptist Church in Madison. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the St. John Baptist Church in Madison.
Mr. Chester "Sonnie" Williams, age 77, of Forrest City, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Williams, formerly of Palestine, was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Palestine and was the son of Chester Williams and Ruth Austa Gamble Williams.
Visitation services for Mr. Williams will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Bell Cemetery in Palestine.
