Jonesboro hammered out 25 hits Friday and received solid pitching to take a 17-9, 12-2 doubleheader sweep over the Cabot Panthers in AAAAA-East Conference play.
The Hurricane improve to 18-5 overall and stand 11-1 in the league -- sharing the East conference lead with Mountain Home, 16-6 overall and 11-1.
Mountain Home swept West Memphis on Friday, winning 2-0 and 14-2, to keep pace with Jonesboro.
Jonesboro will host the Forrest City Mustangs Tuesday,
Forrest City picked up their first win of the season on Thursday, when the Mustangs downed Barton 4-2.
Following Tuesday's game at Jonesboro, Forrest City will host Searcy on Thursday and will finish the year next Tuesday, when they host Cabot at the Sports Complex.
Jonesboro and Mountain Home are on a course to meet in a doubleheader Friday at Mountain Home which could decide the league champion.
Jonesboro jumped in front early in both games and trailed only once in the doubleheader.
Cabot remains in the running for a postseason state tournament bid as the Panthers stand at 14-9 overall and 8-3 in the conference.
In other high school baseball last week, the Hughes Blue Devils ended their season on Thursday, losing to Cross County in the first round of the district tournament played at Marked Tree.
The Blue Devils finished the year at 2-10.

The Forrest City Lady Mustangs will conclude the AAAAA-East portion of their season schedule today when they travel to Cabot for a varsity/junior varsity conference matchup.
The Lady Mustangs stand at 7-20 overall and 2-11 in the conference.
Following today's conference game, Forrest City will close out the season with road trips to Little Rock McClellan and Wynne and a home game against Marion.
The Hughes Lady Blue Devils will play Cross County at 4 p.m., at Cross County.
The Lady Blue Devils, one of just 24 slow-pitch softball teams statewide, defeated Marked Tree 18-0 last week getting three home runs from Brandi Davidson, who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Mandi Davidson was 2-for-4 with a single and a double while Shamiko Porter was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple in the game.
On Thursday, the Lady Blue Devils fell to Cross County in varsity action, 16-1 but rebounded to take a 14-5 win in the second game.
The Searcy golf team may want to schedule their home games at the Forrest City Country Club next season.
On Thursday, the Lions defeated Forrest City in conference matches, winning by four strokes.
Searcy finished with a team score of 155 while the Mustangs shot a 159.
Earlier this month, in matches played at Searcy, the Lions finished with a 177 on their home course.
Searcy's Matt Gentry out-dueled Forrest City's Jake Wade to finish with a round of 36, good enough for the medalist honors.
Wade carded a 40. Sawyer Ramsey led the Mustangs with a round of 37 while Brian Hacker closed out with a 38. John Scott Carroll had a 44 and Doug Drake, playing with the varsity, finished the round with a 56.
In JV play, Josh Coleman shot a 43.
The Mustangs host West Memphis today.
