Mary Lambert

Mrs. Mary Lambert, age 71, of Wynne, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.

Mrs. Lambert, born Oct. 23, 1931, in St. Francis County, was the daughter of Homer Hobbs and Alma Rumsey Hobbs. She had made her home in Hughes and Illinois prior to retiring to Wynne. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

In 1959 Mrs. Lambert married Worley Ellis Lambert and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann LaPradd of Fayetteville, Ga.; one son, Marvin Griggs of Ramer, Tenn.; one sister, Mavis Rose of Wynne; one brother Johnny Hobbs of Georgia; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by two sons, John and Sammy Griggs.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lambert were held on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. Dustin Lemke officiating the service. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Stephanie Carol Jones West

Ms. Stephanie Carol Jones West, age 21, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis following an accident.

Ms. West, born July 5, 1982, in Forrest City, was the daughter of Dana Carol Jones and Phyllis Ann Adams Jones. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and attended the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Palestine.

Ms. West is survived by a daughter, Kaydin Elizabeth West of Forrest City; her father, of Palestine; her mother, of West Helena; a sister, Amy Lasha McElduff of Palestine; her paternal grandparents, Dana and Delores Jones of Palestine and a host of relatives and friends. A daughter of Ms. West, Karly Don McLaughlin, also died in the accident.

Funeral services for Ms. West were held on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed in Bell Cemetery.
