Mrs. Iola Hambleton, age 84, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Hambleton was born May 10, 1919, in St. Francis County, the daughter of Anson Boyd Hodges and Ella Lively Hodges. She lived in the Forrest City area for all of her life, and was a member of the Eastern Stars, the Happy Days Club and the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hambleton married Derwood Hambleton in 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1964. She is survived by four nieces, Pauline Williams and Katherine Silver both of Indiana, Patricia Ashley of Wynne and Brenda Andrews of Steele, Mo., and three nephews, Lee Hodges of Wynne, Neil Canady of Houston, Texas and Melvin Algood of Florida.
Visitation for Mrs. Hambleton will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kelso and Rev. Gary Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.
Mrs. Georgia Virginia "Jenny Babe" Nichol, age 82 of Arlington, Tenn., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Arlington.
Mrs. Nichol was born July 27, 1921, in Memphis, the daughter of William Wallace Webb and Mary Verna Apperson Webb. She was retired from the University of Memphis Library and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Nichol was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Russell Campbell Nichol. She is survived by a daughter, Billie Lovett of Arlington; and two sons, Karl Nichol of Millington, Tenn. and David Nichol of Forrest City.
Visitation for Mrs. Nichol will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at 2 p.m., at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill East Funeral Home.
Mrs. Teresa Jean Roup, age 51, of Memphis, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Roup was a certified travel consultant with Travelenium travel agency, a member of the Meadowbrook Country Club in West Memphis and a member of the CTC.
Mrs. Roup is survived by her husband, Robert W. Roup; a daughter, Heather Nicole Moore of Little Rock; three step-sons, Robert W. Roup Jr. DDS and Randall C. Roup, both of Austin, Texas, and Russell G. Roup of Irvine, Calf.; her mother, Pearl Brown of Forrest City; a sister, Tanya Brown Oxley of Memphis; her grandmother, Bonnie Bridges of Georgia and three grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mrs. Roup will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at 6 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis.
