Dorothy Rea Bruckner

Mrs. Dorothy Rea Bruckner, age 80, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003.

Mrs. Bruckner, born Dec. 28, 1922, in Forrest City, was the daughter of L.E. Rea and Alice Clark Rea. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs and attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis and had a degree in interior design.

Mrs. Bruckner is survived by a brother, Lawrence E. Rea Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; two step-sons, Phillip Free of Dumas and Tommy Free of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bruckner.

Memorial services for Mrs. Bruckner were held on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Davis-Smith Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Her body was donated to the University of Arkansas School of Medical Science. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs or the Garland County Humane Society.


James Robert "Jim Bob" Cobb

Mr. James Robert "Jim Bob" Cobb, age 21, of Batesville, Miss., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Monroe County, Miss.

Mr. Cobb, born May 15, 1982, in Dawson County, Texas, was the son of James G. Cobb and Gwendolyn Walters Walker. He was a turf management student at East Mississippi Community College, was employed by Green Oakes Golf Course and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Columbus, Miss. He is survived by his mother, of Columbus; his father, of Forrest City; his grandparents, Frank and Ruby Newton, both of Enid, Miss.; and his great-grandmother, Ollie Howell, of Pope, Miss.

Visitation for Mr. Cobb will be held on Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, Miss. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Cook, Rev. Ed Knox and Rev. Linnie Maples officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, Miss.


Mark Alan McNew

Mr. Mark Alan McNew, age 35, of Bigelow, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003.

Mr. McNew was born July 19, 1968 in Independence, Mo., the son of Thomas A. McNew and Kay Snead McNew. He was an electrical worker and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Palestine.

Mr. McNew is survived by his wife, Glenda Dian Jackson McNew of Bigelow; a daughter, Kaylea Ann McNew of the home; his parents of Caldwell and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for Mr. McNew will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at 2 p.m, in the Chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton with burial following in Lost Corner Cemetery.
