Ann Hawks Nimocks

Mrs. Ann Hawks Nimocks, age 73, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Mrs. Nimocks, born Feb. 8, 1930, in Macon, Ga., was the daughter of James M. Hawks and Margaret B. Hawks. In 1946 she moved with her family to Forrest City and was a 1947 graduate of Forrest City High School. After attending Wesleyan College in Macon, she worked as a reservation agent for Eastern Airlines. Mrs. Nimocks was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and was a member of several civic clubs.

In 1952, Mrs. Nimocks married Alfred B. Nimocks Jr., of Forrest City, and he survives her along with two sons, Byron Nimocks of Rye, N.Y. and Mallory Nimocks of Forrest City; a daughter, Madge Nimocks of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Jean Hawks Vandiver of Forrest City; a brother, Jimmy Hawks of Kentucky; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mrs. Nimocks will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. The family requests memorials be made to the Forrest City Public Library Endowment Fund, the Church of the Good Shepherd or the charitable organization of one's choice.
