Jack Good

Mr. Jack Good, age 79, of Palestine, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Good was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Lake City, the son of John L. Good Sr. and Myrtle Nutt Good. He lived in Palestine for the past 40 years and was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Lions Club and the Midway Baptist Church.

Mr. Good married Jewel Jones in 1963, and she survives him along with a daughter, Rita Cox of Memphis; two sons, Johnny Good of Conway and Ricki Good of Palestine; two step-daughters, Ellen Edmonson of Forrest City and Polly Brown of Memphis. He is also survived by three sisters, Opal Boling of Paragould, Sunshine Bales of Palestine and Johnnie Faye Hurt of Palestine; four brothers, Charles M. Good and Sumner Good both of California, Rev. Ivory Good of Missouri and Carlyle Good of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation for Mr. Good will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at 4 p.m. at in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home Rev. Ray Legge and Rev. Ivory Good officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Wheatley.
