Mr. Ralph Edward Harp, age 52, of Harrisburg and formerly of Wynne, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at the St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Harp was born Sept. 1, 1950, in Siloam Springs, the son of F. Eugene and Virginia Marie Harp. He was a pharmacist, inventor, manufacturer and entrepreneur. He was employed by Kroger in Jonesboro and patented a cold seal machine used by pharmacies to protect nursing home patients from heat damage to their medications. He was also a member of the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Harp is survived by his wife, Machelle Harp of the home; his parents, of Siloam Springs; four daughters, Jana Marie Harp of Chesapeake, Va., Katrina Ann Harp, Erika Machelle McKee and Amanda Nicole Harp, all of Harrisburg; three sons, Andrew Gene Harp, Wesley Allen McKee and Kaleb Edward Harp, all of Harrisburg; two brothers, Bob Harp of Pea Ridge and Ron Harp of Siloam Springs; a granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at 2 p.m., at Harrisburg First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a Ralph Harp Memorial Fund has been established at the First National Bank of Wynne/Harrisburg to benefit Amanda and Kaleb Harp.
