The Hughes Blue Devils shut out Trumann 26-0 Tuesday in a preseason scrimmage played at Trumann.
Sixth-year Hughes coach James Wright said overall, his Blue Devils played "about like I thought they would," adding "I saw what I wanted to see and I saw some things I really didn't want to see."
The Junior High Hughes team also won in their scrimmage against Trumann, 20-8.
The Junior Blue Devils open on Thursday, Sept. 4, while the senior Blue Devils, ranked 10th in Class AA's preseason polls will host Barton on Sept. 5 in the season opening game for each team.
