Willie Franklin Hastings

Mr. Willie Franklin Hastings, age 65 and a lifelong resident of Forrest City, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Hastings was born May 28, 1938, in Haynes, the son of the late James Franklin and Lucy Mae Harbin Hastings. He was an auto mechanic for over 45 years until retiring eight years ago, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and served as a past Governor of the Forrest City Lodge #1887.

Mr. Hastings married Barbara Ann Hastings in 1973 and she survives him along with two sons, James Hastings of Kentucky and Michael Hastings of Forrest City; three daughters, Debra Hand and Diane Smith, both of Forrest City and Tracy Dallas of Caldwell; two brothers, Ricky Hastings of Texas and Carol Hastings of Protor; four sisters, Dorothy Hastings, Martha Baldwin and Wilma Smith, all of Forrest City and Joyce Pittman of West Memphis; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hastings was preceded in death by a brother, George Hastings.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne. A private burial will be held at a later date.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
