Mr. Thomas "Tommy" DeVazier, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be
announced at a later date. Stevens Funeral Home will be in charge
of all arrangements.
Mr. Jubal Early Etheridge, age 85, of Brinkley, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Etheridge was born on June 3, 1918, in Conway, the son of Jubal Early Etheridge and Ina Clements Etheridge. He was a retired businessman and had lived in Brinkley for the past 46 years. He was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II, served the Monroe County Veterans for many years, a member of the Lions Club, the Gideons and of the Claude Sims American Legion Post 68. He was also a member of the Brinkley First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, a charter member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church, a former member of the Water Commission and served on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Area Council on Aging.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Griever Etheridge; two sons, Eddie Etheridge of Beebe and Lewis Early Etheridge of Forrest City; a daughter, Mary Lynn Knight of Little Rock; one sister, Marjorie Kirk of Conway; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Etheridge will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Brinkley with Bro. Jim McDaniel and Dr. Tim Deahl officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley. Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley is in charge of all arrangements.
