Arvil "Rusty" Cecil Hudgens

Mr. Arvil "Rusty" Cecil Hudgens, age 49, of Forrest City, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Hudgens was born Aug. 17, 1954, in Forrest City, the son of Anson Hudgens and Florence Chilton Hudgens. He lived in St. Francis County for the past seven years and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Hudgens is survived by two sons, Richard Keith Hudgens of Baton Rouge, La. and Charles Martin Hudgens of Forrest City; three brothers, Buddy Hudgens of Forrest City; Spud Hudgens of Tennessee and Grover Hudgens of Louisiana; four sisters, Clara Faye Mills, Janice Walker, Virginia Strickland and Kay Hudgens, all of Louisiana and two grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Hudgens will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 11 a.m., graveside at Forrest Park Cemetery.


Leon Russell

Master Sergeant Leon Russell, age 86, of West Point, Miss., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Dugan Memorial Home.

Mr. Russell was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Wilmot. He was a retired Master Sergeant with United States Army, a member of several military organizations and a member of Woodgate Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi.

Mr. Russell is survived by a daughter, Dr. Suzanne Kimmel of Berlin, Germany; four sisters, Era Williams and Dorothy Huffman both of Eupora, Miss., Beulah Russell of Calhoun City, Miss. and Jenny Lee Carrier of Forrest City and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Russell will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Montevista Baptist Church in Eupora, Miss. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Montevista Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Searcy officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Montevista Cemetery. Robinson Funeral Home of West Point, Miss., is in charge of arrangements.
