Mary Boren Causey

Mrs. Mary Boren Causey, age 99, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Mrs. Causey was born Aug. 23, 1903, in Tyro, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Boren and Mary Jo Freeman Boren. She lived in Forrest City for most of her life, was a housewife, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Work Basket Sewing Club and she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Causey married William Shafter Causey in 1922, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by one son, William Shafter "Bill" Causey Jr. of Forrest City, one daughter, Marilyn Causey Harris of Forrest City; a sister, Bennie McCool of Danville, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation For Mrs. Causey will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.


Raymond Albert Morian

Mr. Raymond Albert Morian, age 78, of Wheatley, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Morian was born Aug. 23, 1924, the son of Albert J. Morian Sr., and Theresa Rebholz Morian. He was a retired mechanical design engineer with Sanyo and a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army.

Mr. Morian is survived by his wife, Marie Morian of Wheatley; six sons, Allen Morian of Wheatley, Kenny Morian of Gainesville, Fla.; Don G. Morian of Gillett, Steve Morian of Cabot, Jerry Morian of Jacksonville, Fla. and Glenn Morian of Memphis; two daughters, Donna Lesley of Forrest City and Kim "Annie" Embrey of Colt; two brothers, Albert J. Morian Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and Donald C. Morian of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Theresa A. Long of Denver, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Blaine Morian and a sister, Germaine T. Morian.

Funeral services for Mr. Morian were held Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Wheatley Methodist Church with Rev. Kavan Dodson and Rev. Carl Baldwin officiating. Burial followed in Posey Cemetery in Wheatley under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorials be made to the West Cancer Clinic in Memphis, One Accord Baptist Church in Wheatley, Wheatley Methodist Church, the Wings Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
