Mr. Walter B. Cherry Jr., age 95, of Marianna, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Forrest City.
Mr. Cherry, a retired bus driver, is survived by his wife, Estella Cherry; five daughters, Essie Middleton of Little Rock, Ruby Brooks of Brenton, Fla., Mattie Cronshaw of Detroit, Mich., Bessie Jones of Marianna and Diann Fenley of Memphis; a son, Walter L. Cherry of Compton, Ohio; a sister, Sernia Wilburn of Marvell; a brother, Alfred Cherry of Chicago, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Cherry will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at noon at Paradise M.B. Church in Marianna with Rev. E.H. Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Mound City Cemetery in Felton.
