Mr. Sam White, age 82, of Widener, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis. Mr. White was born April 28, 1920, in Hughes. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Ida White of Widener; two daughters, Samella Jones and Dorothy Williamson, both of Forrest City; 11 sons, Albert White, Johnny White, Leroy White, Eddie White, Isiah White, Sam White and Theo White, all of Forrest City, Willie White, Alonzo White and Hezekiah White, all of Widener and Henry Lee of Madison; 59 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. White will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Clay Funeral Home from 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the Days Temple Church of God in Christ at 12 noon with Elder John Henry Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery.
