Floyd "Jim" Landrum

Mr. Floyd "Jim" Landrum, age 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Landrum, born Feb. 21, 1924, in Paragould, was a retired certified public accountant and a world War II Army veteran. He was 1949 graduate of the University of Arkansas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. He was also a member of the Three Rivers Basketball Boosters Association and the Arkansas Razorback Alumni Association.

In 1973, Mr. Landrum married Carolyn Rowland and she survives him along with four children, Susie Landrum of Forrest City, Jim Landrum of Memphis, Carmen Hoggard and Eric Rowland, both of Poplar Bluff, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Landrum were held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Kurt Schuermann officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Forrest City Chapter of Rolling Readers, First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff or the Poplar Bluff Library Genealogy Department.


Don Golden

Mr. Don Golden, age 56, of Forrest City, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mr. Golden, born Feb. 4, 1946 in Marianna, was a truck driver and a Baptist. He is survived by one daughter, Donna Powers of Forrest City; one brother, Tommy Sinclair of Marion; two sisters, Doris Lachat of Jonesboro and Paula Levering of Texas and two grandchildren.

Funerals services for Mr. Golden were held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Chelch Regan officiating. Burial followed in Hughes Cemetery.


Elton Guy "Bill" Story

Mr. Elton Guy "Bill" Story, age 78, of Palestine, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.

Mr. Story, born June 19, 1924, in Calvert City, Ken., was the son of Henry Cleveland Story and Rosa Eugenia Bebout. He lived in St. Francis County for most of his life and was retired from Sanyo Manufacturing Company. He was also a veteran of World War II and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

Mr. Story is survived by two sons, Elton Glenn Story of Conway and Donald Lee Story of Palestine; one daughter, Susan Wedette Stephens of Palestine; two sisters, Elva Mae Verret of Mississippi and Elta Ford of Hughes and seven grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mr. Story will be held on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Story will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at 2 p.m. in Steven's Chapel with Anthony Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.
